In 1915 Charlotte Gilman wrote of a place that had no crime, no corruption, no pollution, no war and, most importantly, no men. In her novel, Charlotte called this place ‘Herland’.
‘Return To Herland’ tells the story of her descendent Ben’s growing belief that Herland was, and perhaps still is, a real place.
As he finds out more, Ben discovers his uncle visited Herland in 1953. Ben becomes determined to find Herland and discover what had been so troubling to his uncle that he had taken the secrets of what happened there to his grave.
